Mary Salander, Brianna Keilar, Doug Wiley, Bob Bolster & David Jeppsen On Monday July 19th Everybody Wins! DC (EW!DC) held its 14th Annual South River Golf Tournament in Edgewater, Maryland. The event brought together corporate sponsors, Reading Mentors and congressional staffers for a fun day of competition, including closest-to-the-pin, long distance drive and other contests. After braving the hot temperatures players headed to the post-tournament program, which was emceed by CNN Congressional Correspondent Brianna Keilar. Following a raffle with some great prizes Keilar handed out awards to the players, including one to the winning foursome sponsored by CTIA – The Wireless Association and led by Team Captain Bob Bolster. Bolster remarked: “Everybody Wins! DC is a wonderful program that provides great benefit to not only the kids, but also to those that volunteer to read and mentor. Everybody Wins! DC always puts on a great golf tournament and today was no exception.” The event helped raise funds for our much needed mentoring and literacy program. “Each year, funding raised through the South River Tournament moves us closer to our dream to create multiple opportunities for success in educating our youth carving a pathway out of poverty for each student vital to the continued growth in our economy” said EW!DC Executive Director, Mary Salander. “CTIA – The Wireless Association is a long-time partner that not only supports fundraising activities during the year but also dedicates volunteers each school-year to read and mentor students at a nearby school.” Thank you to all those who attended and participated in a great day of golf.
