EW!DC Partner Schools Raise Reading Scores

Recently, DCPS released the results of the PARCC tests that were given to 3-8th grade students during the 2016 school year. Students were tested on English Language Arts (ELA) and math. Results from the 2016 tests showed a slight improvement in scores for both ELA and math across the district.

EW!DC Receives $10,000 Grant from CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield to Host ‘Healthy Month’ Initiative in Power Lunch Program

WASHINGTON, D.C (May 10, 2016) -- Everybody Wins! DC (EW!DC) and CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) will kick off the Feeling Good About Me! Healthy Month Initiative this week! EW!DC is honored to receive a $10,000 grant from CareFirst to host this wellness and literacy campaign in all 11 of its Power Lunch programs in low-income elementary schools across the Washington Metropolitan Area. All Power Lunch programs will receive health education books for their book carts. Students in four schools- Amidon-Bowen Elementary, Garrison Elementary, Ludlow Taylor Elementary, and Marie Reed Elementary- will also receive a health education book to take home to add to their personal libraries.

Everybody Wins! DC Partners with Coaching for Literacy and the Washington Wizards for the Assistant Coach Program

Everybody Wins! DC (EW!DC) has been selected by Coaching for Literacy (CFL) as the beneficiary of their Assistant Coach Program.  CFL has partnered with the Washington Wizards to offer this unique philanthropic experience. The Wizards provide two premium tickets to Coaching for Literacy for two particular games. CFL then gives Wizards fans the opportunity to make a donation to local literacy efforts in exchange for the premium tickets. The donors enjoy an amazing experience with their favorite team and CFL allocates the funds to its local literacy partner – Everybody Wins! D.C. The Wizards will host CFL’s Assistant Coach Program twice this season- on January 16th and again on March 23rd
