Volunteer Reading Mentors come to Power Lunch as representatives of participating companies and organizations that recognize and support the program. Individuals join only through these partnerships. We will work with your organization to determine a Power Lunch school location that is in need of mentors and that is conveniently located to your office. We request that participating organizations support our volunteer programs by: - Assigning a point of contact in your organization to assist your school’s Program Coordinator in recruiting and retaining Mentors.
- Holding information sessions or using other methods to promote Power Lunch to prospective Mentors within your organization.
- Sending a financial gift to support the program.
Your financial support helps to provide the necessary funding for: - Educational enrichment programs for the children
- Volunteer recognition events
- Books for the Everybody Wins! library at the school
- Books for the children to take home
- Liability insurance for each volunteer
- Salaries for our on-site staff
- Other administrative costs associated with operating a large volunteer program
